Gm Stocks Go Down 23% In One Day!

On November 10, 2008 GM stock dropped big; in fact, some Wall Street analysts are saying that GM would have a difficult time recovering, even in the government swooped in and gave them a little chunk of the bailout.

Chances of that aren't great, especially considering the bailout plan wasn't really written for automakers. Soon-to-be President Obama mentioned wanting to try to get some money thrown that way, but in order for something like that to happen, Congress would have to get together and create some sort of amendment stating that automakers have part in the big bailout.

Fact is, you better hope you don't own any GM stock!

the American economy, automakers like Ford, GM, and Chrystler may end up downsizing beyond recovery.

GM reported a $2.5 billion loss in its third quarter financial statements. In such at terrible state, there was talk that possibly GM and Chrystler would get together and form some sort of merger; now, after that fell through, investors' confidence in both companies continue to fall. We may have witnessed the rise and fall of some of the greatest American companies ever formed!

So what does that mean to you and I? For starters, buying GM, Ford, or Chrystler stock would is a serious gamble. Be careful about what you invest in! Though the returns could potentially be huge if you invest in one of these down-spiraling companies while are at a discount, you still need to consider the risk.
